Homegrown :: Hoolz

Dubai is bursting at the seams with local talent, some terrific, some down right terrible. Each week (hopefully, if we’re not too partied out) OHM will profile one of the more terrific resident regulars round town for a little something we like to call ‘Homegrown’. In our third interview we speak to Electric Studio regular Hoolz

Where are you from?

Beirut

Why Dubai?

A place with more doers than talkers, a rarity in the arab world, and the mix of cultures.

Why are you a DJ?

Every man gotta right to decide his own destiny

Track you always drop to make the crowd go nuts?

Depends on the set time and crowd really, don’t have any must drops.

Who’s the worst DJ in Dubai?

haha, the gossip segment then. Im not one to hate, there are many though. The ones that thrive on radio hits, chart topers, and remixes are at the top of that list.

And the best?

Depends on what your looking for. Quite a bunch with their own styles so can’t really put a best tag on any.

CDJ, Traktor or Vinyl?

CDJs cause Vinyl releases are rare round here

DJ Disaster?

Hitting the cue button on the wrong deck

Dream gig?

Fabric London (Room 1)

Your sound?

Ranging to slightly on the darker side.

Take a listen here to the sounds of Hoolz. Hoolz is our resident regular at iLL Communications, Fridays at Trilogy Club Dubai.
